A MESSAGE FROM REBECCA BACON, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Dear Community Partners,

As children head back to school on Monday, excitement has been building across Hillsborough County. Community members share a renewed sense of purpose: helping every child begin the school year with the support and resources they need to thrive.

Our team and many of our funded partners have been participating in communitywide back-to-school events and leading program-specific efforts to ensure families have access to essential resources before classes begin.

This is an ideal time to highlight the many programs funded by the Children’s Board in collaboration with Hillsborough County Public Schools.
    Community partners Include:
    -Boys & Girls Clubs
    -the Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA
-the Florida Education Fund, Gulf Coast Jewish Family and Community Services
    -Parents and Children Advancing Together

These programs offer on-site after-school programs that combine enrichment activities and academic support in safe, dependable environments for children.

Other partners provide targeted support for students and families:

Seniors in Service: tutoring and mentoring in classrooms through their Foster Grandparent Readers in Motion program
Children’s Home Network SEEDS program: countywide family support focused on children’s developmental, educational, and social needs.

More specialized initiatives include:
-The Hillsborough Education Foundation’s Tech Connect: expands digital access for families facing technology barriers
-The Family Healthcare Foundation’s Connecting Kids to Care: provides school-based health care access navigation.

These are just a few of the more than 100 programs featured in our Family Guide. Look for printed copies at community events or view the digital guide at www.childrensboard.org. To learn more about how our programs advance children’s development, school success, health, and safety while strengthening families, please contact us.

Best wishes for a successful school year!
